Bright Room is primarily an acupuncture clinic. However, we will, if time permits and your condition requires, carry out some massage – ususally for muscular-skeletal conditions. The massage we do at Bright Room will generally be of quite a short duration, usually 5 to 10 minutes maximum. Even so, we find that can be a great addition to an acupuncture treatment, and really improves the effectiveness and outcome.

Tui Na Massage

At Bright Room Community Acupuncture, most of our practitioners are trained in Chinese Therapeutic Massage, otherwise known as Tui Na.

Tui Na massage has been practiced for centuries. With its roots deeply embedded in ancient healing techniques, it offers a holistic approach to rejuvenating the body, mind, and spirit.

Tui Na, which translates to “push” and “grasp,” is a form of Chinese therapeutic massage that involves the application of rhythmic pressure, stretching, and manipulation techniques. This healing art focuses on stimulating the body’s meridian system and promoting the flow of Qi (vital energy) to restore balance and harmony within.

Unlike relaxation massages that primarily target superficial muscle tension, Tui Na addresses deeper layers of tissues and energy channels. It works by applying various techniques, such as kneading, rolling, pressing, and brushing, to specific points and areas of the body. By doing so, it effectively relieves blockages, reduces pain, and enhances the body’s natural healing abilities.

One of the key aspects that sets Tui Na apart is its versatility. It can be customized to address a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, stress-related ailments, digestive issues, and chronic pain. Tui Na practitioners utilize their knowledge of anatomy and energy pathways to identify imbalances and tailor treatments to suit individual needs.

Tui Na massage offers a unique blend of therapeutic techniques rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom.
